I did the same thing with my husband's Maxima and my husband who is a service tech for Goodyear, suggested that I put some high test in as soon as I was able to add more gas. He said it would mix in with the low grade stuff. It ended up being just fine. I don't think I'd worry.

I thought you were going to say that she filled it with Diesel (Which is nearly impossible, but could happen)

I think you'll be fine dude... a couple guys in this forum swear by 87 octane... not me personally, but I don't think you will notice too much difference.

I thought so too she put diesel in. If you are really concern about it just go and buy some octane booster. By the good one it can raise your octane by 5-6 points. I would not worry about it.

Not a problem at all.

Avoid full-throttle blasts for this tank, but the ECU can accommodate low octane.

if you aren't hearing any excessive spark knock, i wouldn't get too excited. run 'er down to half, then fill back up with high octane.

my car actually ran on a mix of diesel/gas (not by choice!!) recently and survived. i'm sure your's will too!

Here's what you do. Don't worry about it, relax, and have a beverage knowing that your car will be perfectly fine. You can safely use 87, some use it all the time.

Thanks for the compliment! I love the ride... looking forward to more mods...

I wouldn't even sweat it about the cheapo gas... every now and then my wife slips me a light beer in between the hard stuff and I feel fine the next day, I think your car will feel the same!

Love your rims by the way!

I'm one of those that swear by using regular 87 Octane in my 2006 G35 Sedan 6sp manual. With over 35k miles I have never filled up with anything other than regular. I use BP,Raceway, Pit Stop, Hess whatever is the cheapest. My best MPG on a single tank was 28.83 between South Carolina and Florida on cruise control. Check your MPG with reqular and then with premium. You may be surprised!

Personally I don't care if a Ford Pinto, a Chevy Vega, or an AMC Gremlin beats me when taking off from a traffic light. My G is the best car I've ever owned including my 1940 Pontiac straight 6, 3 speed manual on the column that I had when I was in college. It even had an AM radio and a heater. Oh it even had running boards.

The sedan can use regular, but the coupe needs premium. The owners manual says:

If premium gasoline is not available, unleadedregular gasoline with an octanerating of 87 AKI number (Research octanenumber 91) may be temporarily used, butonly under the following precautions:

- Have the fuel tank filled only partiallywith unleaded regular gasoline, andfill up with unleaded premium gasolineas soon as possible.

- Avoid full throttle driving and abruptacceleration.

I would put some prem in at a half tank full. You should be fine to drive normal after that. Not really a big deal, just take it easy with the spirited driving for a while like the others said.

Heres the real deal, every modern car has knock sensors. Lower octane gas will cause knock in some conditions even at idle if you have an ODBII scan tool you can monitor the knock sensers and timing.

To compensate for the knock the car will pull timing. Pulling timing will result in decreased performance but shouldn't hurt anything. When you hurt something is when you beat on the car with lower octane gas and the computer has pulled as much timing as the computer will allow you can break parts from knock over time.

The PCM can only pull so much timing... true 87 octane should work fine. 91/92 octane is going to give the best performance AND MILEAGE. Higher octane fuel has a hight BTU and will burn longer.

If your worried about it add some Octane booster the best is NOS or NX brand it adds 6 full points. When I ran Nitrous in my truck I'd add NOS octane boost to 92 octane. As long as the PCM can add timing to match your higher octane the higher octane the fuel the more air you can burn the faster the car will go.

my 2 cents

Jeff
