I recently had a new engine put in my car by a local shop. And i RIght off the bat i realized my clutch was rather stiff.. And it also seemed like it had air in the lines. Right off i realized it was time to bleed it no big deal.. when i got down to doing the job i noticed that it was not even clutch fluid in the system. It was a heavy gear lube. I'm in the proses of trying to drain it all out of the line but my question is this.

1. Would gear lube hurt that system? 2. Any tips/tricks to getting it out and getting the proper fluid back in.

I know this is a stupid question, but i'm wondering if any one else was ever that dumb to do that?

Tomorrow i'm just going to get a friend and try and fix it threw afew rounds of bleeding.

I'm not sure, but that might have ruined everything.

It is Rather hard to tell. I'm sure some one messed up b4 and did that. I'm hoping that in the cylinder is actual clutch fluid. but who knows. It may need to be removed. But first i'm just going to try and flush and bleed. I've seen small bits of mud in break lines in the past and they have still worked.

here is the deal...siphen..drain..or flush all that crap out...you could even blow it out with an air hose..but not from the master...you will need to pump out the master bro...i would recomend flushing it with junk DOT#3 fluid..till it runs clear....after that..you need to make a choice...think on this..ither way it will function the same...now..if your going to drift or road race..you might wana upgrade fluids a bit to DOT#4...if not stay dot#3 and enjoy...ps..dot 4 fluids have a higher temp rating before the vaporize and start to fade...but only use this (as it is more expencive) if your going to race and get that clutch hot...allso..the lube wont damage anything...it may compress thou..and thats not good..dot fluids are made to not be compressable and to soak up some water too (not DOT#5 thou)..good luck

I tryed to flush it threw with some cheap fluid dot 3 buy one get one free. but IT seems to be worse than compressing the gear lube, I've bleed the clutch threw a large bottle of dot 3. been having trouble building pressure. the system has no leaks in it.. my boss was telling me the best way would be to blow a lot of it out of the line. I've noticed that gear lube floats on the fluid and does not blend well.. maybe it will separate but the clutch is not spongy at all just not enough force to fully engage.

i was also thinking i should just do it and take the cylinder off and check it. and replace the rubber lines.

dude..thats what us nicco heads are for....we may not have all the answers as induvidualls...or good spelling..lol...but we do as one big a** nissan lovers forum bro...the power of many!..

anyways..to your issue.....you can blow out your lines with like 100psi clean air!...but remove your master and clean that out by hand..you dont want to blow out the seals as there a pita to fix....you can allso try spraying some brake clean in the lines before you blow it out to break down the greese...id actually do a couple of cans to be shure you dont miss any left over..then blow it clean..bleed system...and if you still dont feel the pedle is what it should be...drop the transmission and investigate the clutch and fork..keep us posted man on this issue..and welcome to nicco!

Crazy stuff man.. I hope you can fix your clutch hydraulic system.. btw who was the idiot who filled your clutch reservoir with GEAR OIL?! Shouldn't you be having them fix the problem they caused or at the very least reimburse you for your trouble and expenses?

This is the story in near exact words.."I'm sorry but i was having one of my tecs. finish up the work done (Tec being some college kid who needs internship and works for free) and in the cold there was some slight confusion with fluids being close at and and just wanting to go home" Basically.. He f***ed s*** up because he was cold and its not like his paycheck is at stake..

2 bleeds and i'm not getting any pressure.. having trouble getting air out of the line.. i've yet to blow the whole system out.. it has been in the 40's here and for Florida its f*cking cold.. soo i'm going to wait abit.. i'm having some iddle issues any how i'm thinking its my plugs or wires..

No job and no house I'm strapped for cash I'll blow everything i have when April rolls around and i go off to Basic.

But for now my entertainment is running the neighborhood 2 times a day and doing 50pushups after.

Oh and btw the shop said sorry and gave me a bottle of break fluid.. Which was not worth the gas... Will never go to that place again..
