This is a write up on how to fix your idiot light for the gas gauge. Make sure your light bulb is in working order and wires on the fuel pump assy are not disconnected and corroded. I removed my new sensor from a 2003 maxima. I wanted a sensor that was the newest in the junkyard. I let my gas get down to the last 2.5 gallons and the idiot light came on today. That hasn't happend in so many years.

Tools:3/8 socket wrench8MM socket10MM socketpliersphillips screw driver

How to: - release fuel pressure. - remove fuel pump fuse start car until dies. - open trunk and pull back carpet. - remove grey cover plates. - disconnect wire harness. - disconnect fuel lines. - unbolt fuel pump assy. - remove fuel pump from gas tank. - unsolder sensor and remove sensor from assy. - solder new sensor and install back onto clip. - make sure clip is in the middle of the sensor. - install fuel pump assy back into gas tank.

New sensor from 2003 maxima

Finished product.

Yea you did waste your time. Next time spend an extra 5 seconds out of your life to take clear pictures or use macro settings.

Well I thought it was helpful. I will be doing this whenever I start working on the car again. Thank you.
