Hey guys, new here, first post to be exact, but I figured I would do a quick wirte up on my DIY motor mounts, first I would like to say they are VERY stiff, and do cause vibration, but is well worth it and made my car a different feeling and handling car.

Things needed-4 good hockey pucks-2 3" 5/16 bolts-4 large washers-2 self locking nuts-drill-patients

Drill through the pucks to make a snug fit for the bolts

pull old motor mounts(jack up car the motor via oilpan and block of wood.

place a large washe on both inside sides of the 2 hockey pucks(2 for each side stacked) for space/cushion.

place bolt through bracket on motor then through pucks.

then through the cross member hole, MAKE SURE to use washers on the bottom cross member or you will find that the nut will come through the cross member bolt hole.

tighten down nice and tight and find all your new vibrations/rattles in the car then tighten theose up as well

Take for a ride, and notice NO engine movement, check nuts for tightening every day for a couple days.

Enjoy, and im glad to be here

Thank you

Nice post! I am going to give this a try over winter break. I want something stiffer than Nismo mounts, and not quite as painful as solid aluminum, so this looks good. Can't beat the price either.

Hater.... hahaha J/K. I still have a nismo transmission mount though. So it's all good.

you could always fill your nismos or stock mounts with window weld.

works nicely.

Yeah? I don't know... sounds even more shady than some hockey pucks.

I meant to only bold up the part about the solid aluminum, since that's what I've got.

Darn thing highlighted it all. Probably just operater error though.

EDIT!!Sorry KEMP for crashing your thread;I made a set of engine mounts from the softest grade of urethane that i could machine (it's slightly softer than tyre rubber on the rigidity scale). I still found that the vibration that was passed through was unliveable. I put this down to the bolt that runs through the centre of the mount.

I ended up scrapping that design and went looking for suitable engine mounts the could be modded to fit. I was suggested to look into Mark 2 Escort engine mounts, which is what i did and they are perfect.

The mounts themselves are still made from urethane but they don't have a bolt that runs through the center and there is 0 vibration. Interestling thought there is also very little movement, infact try to move the engine by hand and it won't budge at all.The mounts themselves are 53mm high as opposed to the S13 mounts which are 65mm which is why i machined up the aluminium spacers as well as with the cup to bit of heat protection on the turbo side.

Nice write up.

I am really happy with my window weld filled stockers though. Rigid, but no annoying vibrations in the cabin.
