Hello everyone,

I have kind of a strange question for you all:

Has anyone wrecked a 350z before and can remember what the buy back price was for the car?

The reason I ask is that I would like to do a swap with the engine/trannie and it would be easier for me to get one the has been side-rear-ended instead of piecing it together.

Thanks in advance.

As far as buy back i know its a percentage of what the car is worth (total lose amount) and for sports cars, most of the time it is higher than regular cars, because the parts that are salvageable are more valuable (becuase they are engineered for performance). You could find a salvage lot that has a wrecked Z and purchase it from them. And you can get a loan as long as it is equal or less than the "salvage" value of the car.

Insurance companies receive salvage values from the salvage yard they work with (typically Insurance Auto Auctions or Copart). The salvage yards base their value on the ACV of the undamaged car, the year make and model, the known cost of repair and area/type of damage.

Thanks for the advice; I'll start lookin' around.

Hopefully though I will own an 03 Z come the end of this year (it's the only year that comes in the colour I want.)

I appreciate it a bunch gang!
