Can't emphasize enough how much a light, rwd car needs a set of GOOD TIRES. I've had mishaps myself in the rain when i first got my 240, you learn the first time and drive like an old lady next time its wet out. But the best thing to do is get tires with the best wet traction/hyrdoplaning resistance. This is crucial.
I'm sorry about what happened, you're very lucky to be alive, that's the most mangled up 240 chassis i've ever seen. If its any consolation, I lose my white S13 coupe to a idiot who ran a stop-sign at full throttle this past May. Got another s13 already now. Go save another!
