I was in a horrible accident in my 2006 M35, 10 years ago I wouldn't have survived but my Infiniti saved my
life for sure. The front end was totally gone but you could open all of the doors with no effort. I decided to
pay homage to the people that designed my last one and I purchased a 2008 M35 with just 20,000 miles on it.
What a find it was and only a week earlier I purchased an infiniti ex35, but quickly discovered it was not for me, too small inside, and then a week later I saw the car I really wanted posted to an Infiniti dealer close by,
a 2008 M35, Slate Blue, loaded with all options and a carbon interior. I wrote an e:mail to the dealer at 3:00am in the morning telling them I wanted the car and would come in the next day
to throw myself on their mercy in the trade in, and I went in the next day, purchased the car I wanted all along and couldn't be happier with my new car which is better than my 2006, roomier, nicer exterior lines, more refined dash, more headroom and I feel safe being back in the car that literally saved my life. So , I'm glad to be back on the forums here with my fellow Infiniti enthusiasts. Since I'm retired and drive little compared to before, maybe 3-4k per year, I will have this car for many years, perhaps forever at the rate I'm going. I also applied the remainder of my Infiniti extended warranty and qualified for a warranty that will take me through a factory warranty till August 2017.
that's my story, this is a safe car for sure.

Whoa! Glad you walked. Hope no one else was hurt. Any pictures of the martyr?

I walked away but couldn't actually sleep in my bed for 4 months, I was holding on to the steering wheel
and damaged the palm of my right hand absorbing the impact of the collision. I did survive, although shaken and everyone that stopped to help me were extremely kind, restores faith in the nature of man. 3 minorities who had better things to do, and interestingly, a young, gorgeous woman took my cell phone and remained on hold with AAA for 10 minutes waiting through their horrible service, she totally went against stereotypes that we label people with. She was almost angelic in the air of kindness she exuded. I was truly touched by all the good samaritans who stayed with me for a half an hour as I tried to pull myself together.

It's good to hear that you made out well, despite the extensive damage done to the front end. To all of you guys reading this, take it easy and stay safe out there. Stuff happens, and sometimes it can be worst than this.

On another note; yes, there still are some decent people out there.

thanks for sharing...

Yep, get us off our politics and religion and onto helping others and we might even remember our humanity. A horrible experience w/a silver lining for you and your rescuers; it is more blessed to give than to receive.

keithhr1 - i first want to say that i am very happy that you were able to walk away from that accident. the pix are very graphic and show just how bad that accident was. so thank goodness you're here to tell us this story.

i'm also glad to read that maybe your opinion of minorities has changed a little bit. as a fellow M owner and minority, i read this and think... finally. too many injustices take place today and prejudice of any kind should be something that isn't tolerated or taught to future generations.

my wife is part of the majority and her dad didn't ever approve of us being together just because of the color of my skin. i attended a private school, national recognized college, and work for the no. 1 newspaper in the nation. so needless to say, i don't fit any mold or stereotype left by a small percentage of people who act ignorant.

there are good people out there keith. from this story i gather that you can recognize that they come in all shapes, shades, and situations. interesting thing is we all bleed the same color... glad you're still with us keithhr1. continue to share your story and inspire others to change.

I mentioned the minorities for the benefit of possibly other people. The last time I had a breakdown, driving my second work car home, I had an alternator go out, when I didn't have my phone with me, another minority gentleman stopped to help me call a tow. I have never gone down the path of seeing people different from me as being different in that way, just mentioning this for the many who see different people in a less positive way. The accident help I got at the scene was very emotional. The fact that I could actually brace myself with my right arm on the steering wheel saved me from far worse damage.
To Antzrus, I have been in a fortunate position in my life to save the lives of 6 people directly, only because the law of humanity called to me immediately. Some called me a hero, I wasn't that, I just couldn't live with reality of not doing anything, How does one live with inaction, I don't know, I just know that it is not me. I believe I survived the accident because somehow my good karma played a role. The experiences I had would make a not believable movie or novel, who would believe what I experienced. Doing something others would describe as heroic is simply reacting the the pull of being a humanitarian. If you react without thinking, what you do is not heroic. To think about the danger you have put yourself in and do it anyway is something maybe a bit more heroic. When I think about some of the things I did, I think I was being plain stupid in not pausing for a moment, but then I couldn't have acted as I did.

I agree that we human beings take the time to think way too much between our religious/political and racial thunk up dogma. And hence we lose our endogenous human common sense-turning "common sense" into a sad oxymoron.

Yes, in my perception (it's all in how one perceives) being a healthy human being and just acting without thinking when your and the life of another is in danger is just being that healthy human being. But one who hesitates, thinks too much, but goes for it anyway-they are the real heroes.

No matter though, both benefit from that also endogenous human quality of knowing inside that what you did makes you a better human regardless of the view of others. And ironically having others labeling you a hero often times does not feel right-because after all, we always do things for ourselves first, and others secondarily.

everyone does the best they can, we are all dealt a hand, got to play it, and in the end be able to look ourselves in the mirror and live in an honorable fashion, someone gives you too much change at the checkout and you just give it back, the alternative is taking that which is not yours. All the negative energy we internalize damages us in the end

Oh geez! A fellow with your perception of your humanity is really bad for my business. I can only hope you didn't spread your seed too widely-could put a lot of psychologists out of business...
