Wrecked It-updated pics in first post

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Wife was stopped at a light, drove straight through when it turned green and a lady driving a Venza decided to run the light doing 40. Wife slammed on the brakes and the front end of the EX took out the entire side of the Venza. The Venza then spun out and took out another car.

I was very surprised at the lack of visable damage on our car but after the estimator viewed everything it turned out the adaptable headlight was cracked, the hood damaged beyond repair and the front bumper brace was bent. Long story short....$8500 in damage. The headlight along is $1600 to buy and install. I know thats probably very high but I brought it to the best shop in Atlanta that does all the Infiniti's, Porsche's and Audi's in the area. Good news..no one hurt!

It is terrific no one was hurt! Tough to see your baby get all messed up though. Still, considering the speed of the other vehicle it could have been a lot worse. I had a similar accident in my G37 last winter, but the other guy hit me in the side and pushed me through a stop sign and fence. Despite the wild ride I emerged unharmed. These are VERY safe cars! My car was damaged but looked a lot better than the TSX that whacked me, yet when the adjustor realized the undercarriage was bent he totalled it. That's why I now have an EX.

Thanks. We debated on the color and liked the one you have but since its my wife's to drive most of the time she won the vote. Can't say I love the wheat interior but the red is very nice.
My wife is not loving her 300c rental car but I have to say, Chrysler did a nice job making a smooth family hauler.

I also had the maxima (2009 SV tech/sport, summer tires). it was a lot of fun to drive. I wish the EX35 had the SVT transmission.

Whatever negative reviews there are of the SVT are from low horsepower cars. the nissan/infiniti 3.5L V6 is made for that transmission.

1st of al let me say I'm glad everyone is ok.
2nd Im so glad the EX35 does not have a CVT trans. They suck and howl.
I had one in a car and it's the one reason I got ride of it. Listenine to it when climbing a mountain was allful.
I do wish the 6 speed was tuned better for more agressivness. I like a little less smoothness when I nail it. The Transmission is so liner.
Kia dumped the CVT for a standard auto trans in the Soul for better gas milage.

Comparing the two I like the CVT in the Maxima quite a bit. There isnt a lot of howling with 270 plus horsepower it just pulls hard. Front wheel drive vs the EX rear wheel is another story.....dont love fwd

Glad no one was hurt .. theres not a rental car for that !

The repair looks great , for no reason I'll mention my 2008 (same colour I think red/current) ) was keyed last week , my rental was a 2012 G37x, nice car lots of power the 7 speed transmission didn't make me hate the 5 speed , interior seemed "harder and more plastic like " , so was happy to get my EX back (my EX was cleaner ! ;) )

I'm amazed at how well the paint matches ... I can't find the transition even after washing it twice ... (and applying some one step wax )

anyway , hope your as happy with the body shop as I was !

cheers :yesnod

I have the same color EX 2008. I had a similar accident but I was the responsible one, seen I was the one that took the red.

I tried to brake but I was gonna get hit by all the sides, everybody else brakes except this old man that left the green light at 45mph, hit me by the back.

I did 2 full 360 turns, damage was very little to the tires and back of the car. My air bag on the side popped. It cost me $6000.00 They did a pretty good job as well... I must say they're pretty strong cars!
