I recently found what I believe a 96 se that has some damage to the front passenger side. The damage is not to bad but some of the steel structure behind the fender and the steel brace that the radiator attaches to is damaged. The wreck had not triggered the airbags so it could not have done to much damage and I was wondering if anybody has had experience in this area and could tell me if damage could have bent the frame. I am trying to contact the owner to see if he wants to sell it but I first would like to figure out how serious the problem is.

You can easily get under the car and look down the frame rails, look for bends or any new paint work. Usually a light impact up high won't trigger the bags and only do superficial damage. The core support is easily replaced if that's it.

Can the damage be hidden by a new fender? I bent the unibody behind my drivers side fender and it puller the headlight slightly out of alignment (s13 popups). If its something that needs to be fixed, its gonna cost you alot. I was quoted $750 to straighten out the damage, and its fairly minor.

I got into a little wreck, and the right front passenger side was smashed a bit. had to replace some frame in the front ($690 for frame parts), got a new hood, passenger side headlight and front bumper:$1800 WITHOUT labor. Luckily I got hooked up and labor was done for free, only charged me about 1500 for parts. But had 3100 worth of damage.

Thanks for the posts, I am looking at offering the owner of this car some cash for the car. I am going to try and low ball him since the car is smashed up and it has 112k miles on it. I have an 92 mr2t and I think this car would be a great addition to my garage. If I buy it will get a sr20det front clip to fix the body damage and have a hell of car.
