Hey guys, just fired up my swap about 2 hours ago. started right up no arguments at all. I didn't post about it much but search pretty much answered most of my questions along the way, THANKS c-rad and float for some of your previous answers!! Im going to get a hold of a digital camera to take some pics of the near finished product but I had a few questions now that it's running. tac of coarse doesn't work, is there any way to make the US SOHC tac work, I looked around but didn't find anything about this. Also do these engines normally fire up before 1 revolution?? This engines been sitting for atleast 3 months likely much longer in japan or wherever it was, the fuel was pressurized but it kicked up before it even thought about it. I did remove the fuel pump fuse and disconnect the injector harness and turned it over a lot first to get the oil moved around. I really wasnt expecting it to be this easy but I'm not complaining! Also in the market for a JDM gauge cluster if someones got one.

gj...cant wait to see this..anyways about the tach...mine was the same...i guess....when i had my SOHC ka tach nothing worked cept gas and temp...the speed and tach were dead...my friend swapped a DOHC in it and it works fine...there are times when it would glitch on me and either jump to the redline or it would stay at a certain rpm...but for the most part... it works...

AFAIK, there isn't any way to get the SOHC tach to work. I'm using a SOHC speedo though, but it does get screwy on me sometimes. Ofcourse it's got almost 250K miles on it to. Anyway, go to the junkyard, pick up DOHC tach, and you're golden.
