Ok, so my faith in any sort of congressman has taken a blow once again today. I dont know if anyone else realized this, I certainly didnt, but I've just found out. This stop gap crap that the repubes caved on, you know the one being touted as a 38 billion cut? Guess what, once again the politicians are playing word games. The cut they agreed on was only a 21 billion cut, and the magic 38 number they keep throwing around is a cumulative number along with the previous stop gaps. Sorry maybe I shouldnt be suprised, but this really bothers me to see the deceit so flagrantly used as par for the course.

Is this news to anyone else, or did everyone else know it with dumb 'ol me bringing up the rear?

Well, it was mentioned on air by the Washington reporter for our local station. Ive been listening to this guy report FOREVER and he's definitely not the bias type. I have not had the chance to look for links on it yet, but planned to.

One more interesting note about the level of savings and cuts is this final bill will not contain $38-$39 billion in cuts as advertised.

Why?

That's because that figure is the overall level of cuts taken out of this year's budget.

It includes the $10 billion already cut in the first two stop-gap budget bills that were approved by lawmakers over the past six weeks.

And there was $2 billion trimmed back in the one week stop-gap budget passed late on Friday night.

So, this bill being hashed out right now by staffers will only include about $26 billion in cuts.

Whether it's the case or not, after watching that latest fiasco and all the drama surrounding that bunch of pinheaded retards, and our POTUS going on a damn "victory tour" and using it as a campaigning tool, I'm a lot less critical of those who let a little "violent rhetoric" slip into their conversations... The frustration level with these nincompoops is at record highs.
