hehe...i started opening up my engine today, and it is PRETTY! so clean! (granted i only got to the valve cover's today:D) but there was some old oil pooled up in there that was clean too! Everytime i take a piece off I'm amazed at how clean or new it is...the gaskets on the valve covers are brand new! as is the timing belt and all the accesory belts!

And I painted my valve covers a nice dark blue too today!

now all i need is the rear main seal, and to hammer out this oil pan (tomorrow)...I also need a downpipe, but ahh...mere technicalities!

I've replaced all the heater hoses, vaccum lines, and oil lines to the turbo...any other suggestions guys?

Its gettin close to time to put it in!!! YEAAA!!!!:ylsuper

Whats up Sean? I finally picked up my motor today from JGYcustoms.com..... It is one of the cleanest motors i've seen for an import. I opend up the valve cover and phew~ i had to shut my eyes the glare from the sun on the shiny cams was hurtin my eyes!! The clutch and flywheel look like they were never even used, actually the only part that makes it look a little old is some scratches on the valve cover but thats no biggie. I would highly recommend JGYcustoms, they were great to deal with and were very helpful, though I guess I shouldnt speak too soon until I get everything installed and running, but otherwise Im really please....definately worth the 4 1/2 hour drive there and back. Good luck with your swap man!

have you figured out what downpipe you're getting yet? I heard that the CA downpipe won't line up with KA / SR cat-backs.

Ian I haven't got the radiator hoses yet, but I was referring to the smaller heater hoses...you just measure the interior diameter of your current ones, and figure out how much you need..and go to autozone. They sell the stuff by the foot and its cheap!

I don't see why it shouldn't...in fact i'm almost 100% sure it does...the SR downpipe on a CA won't work...but a CA pipe will bolt to a KA cat back...

yo sean, I do have a PS pump, but no AC... sorry.... I was lookin at my motor again today and noticed that there are 2 pieces that are broken off on my intake manifold, right near the throttle body.... one is the AAC vavle and the other is to the right of it, some light blue cylinder looking thing. Any idea what those are or if I really need them? let me know please

Yeah, that's what I thought too, I mean exhausts are chassis specific, so why wouldn't the downpipe bolt to the exhaust?

My AAC valve was broken too (seems to be a common problem) but I got one from TMS...And the light blue cylinder...might it be faded green? I have a green cylinder I'll let you have from mine (not broken) cause I have extras from TMS:D

How much for the P/S pump? Maybe we could work something out...discount it some and I'll give you the green thing;)

I'll be on AIM later Rick,
