I really don't think they are thinking about the Nissan GTR at all. They have been producing GT type cars for a long time and they are just sticking an R on some special edition ones. Not a fan of these GTR's at all, just trying to explain what they are doing.sean@z1 wrote:WTF ford is trying to catch some of the thunder of the nissan gtr
It really is a matter of who is copying who. Ford GT, Ferrari GT, etc. Once you select GT there are only so many letters in the alphabet. There are GTI, GTX, GTO, so if someone wants to add an 'R' to GT then I have no problem with it any more then someone wanting to add a 'GT' to an 'R'.SVTCOBRA wrote:

Probably came from what they did with the 1993/1995/2000 Cobras. They made limited production Cobra R models that were track ready - fuel cells, racing seats, radio delete, etc. These were limited to around 250 to 300 cars.IMHO, these Cobra's actually deserved the 'R' . From what I remember, to purchase the 1995 model you had to have a scca license.
No, that's not all. It's a turbo rotary, with headers and pistons.G_whizz wrote:Yeah but this one has a turbo rotory engine!!!!!

C'mon guys, you have sand in your box. Who's got a G37S? Who's Infiniti copying now? Sport only begins with a "s".
