While doing some Googling for FAST (Found it at PhatG20. I couldn't remember where it was.) I happened upon a thread from another site. I saw NICO mentioned and decided to take a gander at what joyous praises they were singing about our wonderful board. I was quite shocked to find intense hatred and anger towards our esteemed board members. What's crazier still is that it wasn't even about the Q45 section. Apparently, the 240 guys on NICO are just as cantankerous. They'd give Maxnix a run for his money in terrifying newbies.

An excerpt: Nico on the other hand are abuncha KeyBoard Warriors.

I tried to ask a couple of simple questions about my ka motor, and all I got was a bunch of **** for not doing a search (which I did and it didn't work!) and being made to feel dumb for not knowing the answer already!

I hear you Beebani, if there so good at the search feature why don't they find it and post the link! I've been to a lot of the "newer" nissan forums and they all do that... I'm proud to say I've never said "use the search" because I know it doesn't work worth a ****...

The thread where it started: zerothread/252866

I take pride in being a member of the best Nissan/Infiniti board in the world. (NICO is also the largest right?)

I got a little hot under the collar, but then realized that this all happened in May.

Just thought I'd share and read some interesting replies.

Lol.

I remember I didn't search when I first got here because of past experiences on other forum search engines. NICO's is pretty easy to use. A little time consuming, but it helps to know what you're looking for. Spelling it correctly helps too.

The search works fine with practice. It just gets cluttered with people asking the same questions over and over.

That is just called the 240 section. When you make posts like that in the Q section than the awesome guys here just help you out instead of ***** (that's assuming Brian isn't online ).

The first time I posted than Heath and the other members walked me through it than after I was all done than they told me I could have searched and found it.

This just shows that maturity comes with age. Not too many grandpas have 240's, most of them stick to q's I guess

Maybe there should be a welcome email sent to people when they first join NICO explaining step-by-step how to effectively use the search button. I had a hard time finding what I wanted the first couple of times using it, because I was used to vBulletin®.

Totally. But I've learned to navigate NICO quite well now. Googling your query will generally point you to a specific thread that deals with that you want to find. I should start bookmarking my searches so I can link to them faster for newer members. If I had the patience, I'd try to become a junior NICO/Q45 librarian. Maybe later.
