After a about an hour of backroad fun, my rotors were glowing bright orange, is this normal? And is there any possibility of damaging somthing if this happens? Or is somthing already wrong to cause it. And my headers were glowing orange brite as well but I think thats ok.,

Within reason thats almost normal.Rotors wil glow when their temp is brought up to that level.

If you use your brakes hard and a lot in succession temps can rise that high.

They will warp very easily under those conditions.

when you watch the lemans tournaments they have carbon fiber rotars that glow constantly the entire race. These races go days on end, the rotars look so bad *** at night.

Glowing rotors do look pretty cool. Never gotten mine nearly that hot though.

Glowing Rotors at night--->:ylsuper

Last summer I was in a roadrace ay night, with a supercharged Eclipse and a Cobra with a LOT of hard braking.:eek:

Those Brembos on my 4000 lbs sedan were glowing and smoking, it was so cool!:firedevil

Kids, dont try this at home!(I had fresh MOTUL600 brake fluid, Brembo rotors, metal matrix pads, steel braided brake lines)

As I do believe... the Q45 has Dual Piston Sumitumo calipers and 11 inch vented brakes up front. Is that right fred?

I am unsure about teh excat rotor diameter, but when teh Q's came out they were aming teh best braking cars at any price .Even beating some all out sports cars w/ 129 feet from 60mph.That numebr is still pretty good today in its class.

But yes they are dual piston Sumitomo's.

Fred...:)

PS: I hung out with your Dad yesterday.

Cool. Yeah, Repo and my dad were looking at the Q's brakes and I saw Sumitumo on there. And you know how Andy is... he had to do his "S U M I T U M O" japanese announcer voice.

Just to clarify :

That race was originally supposed to be just between the s/c ed Eclipse and the Cobra and I was the chase vehicle to see who was winning.

But I found myself keeping up pretty good and gaining in some parts of the envelope.

Here is a pic of that car:
