Ok, so now I have a problem with lack of power. I took the car out to see how she ran yesterday and popped an intercooler coupling so I had no power at all. So today I fixed that spot and started car and she idles perfect. Good A/F reading. But I can barely spin the tires with mud on them and when I went down the road, the A/F gauges shows it plummet to lean after I let of the gas. Also reading 5 or so lbs of boost while driving and still no power. But I checked all piping and its fine. Any suggestions? There is gas in oil and I just changed it because that problem. Would a boost leak cause this? I hope its not my rings. I havent had much time to test compression. Heres a video of idling (cold) and then giving it gas...the knocking noise I believe is the bell housing hitting because the motor is shaking a bit. Notice the Vacuum read 20?!!?

Sounds like you have a boost leak somewhere. Timing good?

is the clutch any good? a/f readings will always go lean on decel. video is not much help with a lack of power issue. check for proper timing and th clutch slipping. also make sure your engine grounds are good.

I would do a leak down and comp test to be on the safe side. I always work backwards...lol

timing as well.

whats the best way to do a leak down test? Just get a valve stem and an end cap and pressurized the system and wait?

thats not a leakdown test, a leakdown test is when you pressureize individual cylinders when they are at TDC on their compression stroke and measure the amount of air that escapes. think of it like a super accurate compression test that tells you if you have an internal problem

what you are thinking of is just a boost leak tester. i would highly reccommend making one. they cost all of 3$ and you can get the parts at home depot and a tire shop.

lean on decel is normal. so is 20 inches of vacuum on decel. youve just never noticed it before. actually your idle vacuum is a little low i would check your ignition timing too.

you probably still have a boost leak.

haha I feel retarded now. Thanks for clearing that up. I would have went on forever thinking "leak down" was something else. Thanks again and I'll try that tomorrow.
