I own a 98 Q with 144K.The car has a lot of acceleration problems. It seems like some people had good experiences with BG44K products. 1- Do you think it might help acceleration problems? 2- Which BG product I should use (Power Enhance or Fuel Injection Cleaner)

Thanks

Save some money and get Redline S1 because BG44K has nothing that cleans anymore.

But in my option I have noticed less performance from either over time, must be the thing we call fuel that sucks.

But as usual there are other things that can case your problems, So maintenance history please.

Even with the new formulation, I can do a power balance test, add BG44k at idle for 15 minutes and see an % improvement in the next power balance test.Obviously currently available refinery products don't have ENOUGH detergents to keep things spotlessly clean especially intake valve stems [carbon fluff] and piston crowns.

Most people don't exercise their engines enough by running at high rpms for extended periods [due to gasoline consumption].5 minutes oscillating above 5,000 rpm [4k>6k>4k] can blow the soot out.

Wouldn't that depend on the engines condition too, because I doubt all VH45DE out there can do 5000 RPMs for 5 min straight.

What about the second gear at 90 MPH blow out method. How long do you have to sustain 90 MPH?

Replaced Spark plugs and alternator at 130KAbout a month ago new MAF sensor.

Car runs fine about 15 minutes. Then it starts having acceleration problem.

During the high gasoline prices, I switch to 89 octane for about a month. at that time I didn't notice anything different. But now it seems like getting worst.

Thanks

5,000 rpm is only 38 mph in 1st gear or 68 mph in 2nd.

5,000 rpm is 1900 rpm below the redline so the stress is pretty insignificant not the same as holding 150 mph [5,000 rpm] in 4th.

I surely hope no members car is in such terminal shape as to be stressed by exercise. But then again at 61, I cannot run 5 miles or at least don't want to.

Coils and knock sensors are often bad on these cars.

Start with knock sensors and if you have the money then buy new coils.
