A 240Z or a 240SX?Just curious, kinda bored, and thought I'd put something here that everyone could enjoy.Me, I'll take the 240Z, love the styling, and there's just something about it, that every time I see one, I think, "God! I want that car!"240 vs. 240

No question. Drove a RHD 240Z in college (gf's car) and had a blast in it...

I've had 18 different Zs since 1978. Lots of 240Zs and 280Zs, plus two 280ZXs, two Z31s and a Twin Turbo. I've always owned at least one 240 continuously since 1978.

I've never had a 240SX. The two I've driven handled well but they were SLOW. They look good but SLOW. Will a Ford Small Block fit?

My last 240Z is for sale now. I suspect it will be my last one.

Please excuse my ignorance, but how quick are 240Z's? Awesome cars btw. My dad had a new 280Z in '79. I've seen them swapped with Turbo Buick engines and whew! Stanky fast.

Hey Repo. The original 240z had similar performance numbers to the 240sx. In 1970, that was considered pretty good. But in 1989 when the 240sx came out, that same performance was considered underpowered. By 2003 that performance is downright anemic.. My choice, 240z, no doubt

hmm volvo 240 , with the 5.0 swap done to it and a 6 speed backed up to it , or maybe a 3.8 buick turbo in it ....

id settle for a 240 with a sr swap , but thats spending G20 money

Scarabs rule!!! I've got a video of one just doing crazy burnouts and stuff, it's awesome!Stoney, we all feel your pain, but a Volvo? C'mon man, you get originality points, but not much else, pick something with a lower C/D at least.Reggie, got any pics of your 240s? I am sooooooooo jealous. Why are you selling it? How much, etc...

originality is all i go for , screw C/D if it runs into areo limited top speed then ill just need more power , im a american i could care less about gas milage ...ever wonder why a 240 turbo is called a "turbo brick"? funny thing is i think a birck would do beatter in the wind tunnel

whitch brings me to my next question , what production car has the lowest C/D ? last time i heard was 1997 and the C5 Vette

yah , just trying to be diffrent

The early 240Zs had a listed HP of 156, which gave about 130 or so at the rear wheels. But the car only weighed about 2300 pounds.

The designers of this car must have had some interesting plans for the future. There is lots of space inside the car. Engine compartment and interior. I’m 6’2”, weigh well over 260, and fit just fine in the car. I know of several owners in the 6’6” range.

You can fit almost any engine you can imagine into the front of the thing. I’ve done a SBC and a Ford conversion. I’ve seen Chevy big blocks in them. I know of at least one 440 Hemi motor in one. And a shop in Tampa has a Jag V12 in one. A big engine compartment. I have never understood just what Nissan had in mind for the future of that car.
