I work at the US headquarters of a major import auto manufacturer (not Nissan). Consequently, I can lease new vehicles from the company at prices that are low enough that you would all hate me if I posted them. I really like my company's products, and would gladly own one or recommend them to anyone. I unsurprisingly catch some good natured teasing around the office for my A33 I30. However I continue to choose not to replace it.
My I30 has had very few technical issues, and the issues it's had are all common problems (MAF, power seat motor). The exterior and interior look and feel new, and the car's power and handling are still competitive with current mid-size sedans (and the handling will improve when I replace the Goodyear Eagle RS-As with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus). I'd like a slightly stiffer suspension (might throw in a set of I30t rear springs which I understand are the only difference in the "t" suspension), and the car would be better off with two more gears in its transmission, but nothing it does is unforgivable.
I routinely drive brand new cars on company business, and my I30 compares pretty well even though it's almost 8 years old. I don't plan on giving it up any time soon. Am I crazy or does anyone agree with me on this one?
