Do you trust Flash Options?

Also if YOU YOURSELF have bought a motor from them and not gotten it yet please let me know. I just want first hand information, not "my freind jimmy paid them last month..."I would buy from Flash Options

I'd rather buy from someone over here at the moment. Wouldn't have to deal w/ customs or some of the problems that others have run into. But i guess if the deal was REALLY good and they fixed the other problems they had then i'd probly give em a shot.

well lots of people have ordered from Daunttless and have nothing to show for it yet. I am included in that group of people, but I do take comfort in the fact that I have actually seen his shop (via webcam) and that the place actually DOES exist. Everything is all ready to go, it is just that he is still waiting on the motors. It shouldn't be more than a week or two before things start rolling I presume...

There should be one more part of the poll, "I will buy from them when their North American Stores open up." (Georgia, Vancouver etc...)

I'm sorry I didnt mean to make you feel like an idiot. I'm just real anal before releasing thousands of dollars for a purchase. Also for those that ordered thru Dauntless, he at first said he "hoped" to have the shipment arrive bythe beginning of Jan. And now it's nearly 4 months later, and still no engines, his shipping co., "also, messed up," so cut FO some slack.

at least Adam isn't holding onto people's money, those who wanted it back got it back within a day or two. Also if you Email Adam it dosn't take hime 4 weeks to get back with you. And finally Adam never advertised he had stuff ready to ship like FO did. If you want a motor right now go to Heavy Throttle, Enjukuracing, or even Unstable Hybrids. Why not deal with sombody who's got motor's here in the states... I could name over a dozen places right now who have motor's sitting in stock waiting to get sold.

Good points, but actually he had been preparing the shipment since Sept. he did have engine's ready to ship. But had communication problems with the shipping agency, then they lost his shipment...It's still would be a pain in the butt waiting for 4 months for an engine....that was my point.

Is the above a reference to Daunt's problems, or FO's? If it's in reference to FO, read on dear reader:

---------------------

They lost the shipment? What, they failed to pay off the pirates before going through the South China Sea?!

Yaaarrrrrrrr, me mateys!!! SR20's off the bow!!!

US Customs jacked them for their product on the way through the docks? It was done in coordination with the mob, to keep SR20DET's off of the 710 freeway out of the trucker's hair?

I voted no, because I was happy with my experience of buying engines through a Stateside shop that already had them.

http://www.phase2motortrend.com

I HIGHLY recommend them, if Wayne has access to any clips.

I was going to purchase an S13 front clip when they had that $1,799 deal before christmas, but I was reading the forums at the time and now I don't know.

I would say if they hired someone in the states to open up an old gas station to hold the engines and communicate with customers then I would definitely give them some thought

There prices couldn't raise much though...

If they open a store in GA where I could check them out before hand I might. Main reason being they would be states side and I would save a nice chunk of change on shipping

Remember that FO's shipping is free, the only real advantages I can see of a stateside store are to see the merchandise before purchasing, and having decent english speaking customer service.

Swift Drift, Iczman (Alex) and I took a look at a nice S14 blacktop yesterday that a company was selling for about $2300. Its certainly nice to be able to preview the goods.

Not to mention a stateside store makes it a WHOLE lot easier to get your money back 'the hard way' if they screw you over (I.E. a chargeback) plus you can complain to the BBB if they are in the states.

2300 for an S14??!!! Something looking nice and clean on the outside doesnt mean it's good on the inside.

I've seen S14 clips for 2200, I'd say 2500 is about average. 2300 isn't any streach IMHO

I thought shipping was just free to a port? Even if shipping is free I would think you could negotiate a better deal if you didn't need it shipped.

Excatly, i had to wait around 3 months from time of deposit to get my black top from heavythrottle. When i got it i was kinda worried with how dirty it was....but popped the valve cover, inspected the turbo and it was like new!

Well the engine was clean as hell and was strapped to an Auto transmission, it could have been thrashed useless but I doubt that. Everything I could see from the outside was good. The company had 5 manual trannies to pick and choose from, a few radiators including a new copper koyo for no extra charge and dropped the price to 1800 without the side mount ic while retaining everything else needed for the swap.

Of course there are some companies that don’t care about making money off some engines popularity.

No offense but do I sound like I don’t know what I am talking about Silvia Girl. I do know what to look for in an engine, and I think I have a fair idea about this company that I was prospecting. They even have 12 month warranties because (surprise surprise) they sell just about every foreign (Japanese mainly) engine you can think of to all sorts of people, not just SR's and (quasi) high performance engines to "racers." This company could not tell the difference between an S13 and an S14 blacktop if their lives depended on it, but they are there to sell quality goods, not rip people off for slightly larger turbos and the awesome VVT.

PS: this is a huge engine importing company, if they screw someone over they will have to answer to the BBB. It is not ebay or some untraceable, two-bit, online company.

I have been emailing back and fourth with FO, and they seem to be giving me the run around. They never email me back and I have money waiting. It is very discouraging. I want my rb25. Damnit

Wow everyone on this forum takes offense to everything. I dont think you dont know what you're talking about..but I've never seen a good qaulity low mileage s14 for 2300...and you usually get what you pay for. The fact that it's an auto probably is part of the reason why....

I read FO's website and it says that they have been around for 8 years. If they have been around doing business for that long how come no one has anything good to say about them.

My bad, the next time I need help installing something like a turbo timer i'll call you up, oh wait you didnt even do that yourself, nevermind. :pface

Whats so bad about it being bolted to an auto transmission, maybe you didnt read but they have 5 manual trannies to choose from to swap out with the auto that is included in the price. An S14 in Japan like this probably goes for about 1800, so whats the big deal if a huge engine importer is selling it cheap. Its not there fault they cant tell the difference between an S13 and S14, they are just providing a product to a company that has paid money, unlike some people.

And I suppose that since they have free next day shipping to your door if your within the state makes them even more shady.

Once again taking offense to everything. You're right I didnt install my own GReddy Turbo timer...they dont even make harnesses for my 240sx yr. It was included with doing my SR swap. And I also got my car changed from auto to manual, I suppose you expected someone like me with no knowledge of how to fix cars, to have done that myself to eh? And I just started learning about CARS period about 7 months ago....I am VERY unknowledgeable, but have a deep desire to learn. And the key to that good price of 2300 is they couldnt tell the difference between an s13 blacktop and s14, no? I wasnt aware of that until you just posted it. 2300 for a blacktop 13 is about right.

PS. YOU SUCK
