'08 Nissan Versa S sedan, Certified Pre-owned, 29500 miles, ex-rental from Enterprise.

No financing, plan to keep for 1-2 years. Manufacturer's "bumper to bumper" warranty runs out at 36000 miles.

Used mainly for city commuting, <10miles daily. Occasional road trip every couple of months.

I was thinking of getting the Nissan gold preferred 3yr/40000mile "almost bumper to bumper" warranty plan, and/or a service plan. Am I a little paranoid that it is a rental vehicle, given that it is an '08 model - will it break down anytime soon? Afterall, power train is covered by the CPO warranty till 100000 miles.

I was thinking that getting an extended warranty might increase the resale value, otherwise I'll cancel it and get a pro-rated refund. Does anybody know if the CPO warranty is transferable?

Definitely buy a warranty. Enterprise is notorius for poor vehicle maintenance. Make sure you it's a Nissan warranty, though.

I'm not into extended warranties myself but you don't know how people have driven that vehicle in the past. I know from my last job when I was a road warrior pretty much living out of rental vehicles (and cheap hotels) I drove those cars alot harder than my own personal vehicle. Full coverage on a rental is awesome!

Doing donuts and such in parking lots while being cheered on by the VP of the company is always a fun thing!

Obviously I recommend the warranty... But I sincerely do believe they are a good value.

As you stated, a service plan will add to the vehicles value because they are transferable. However, they will not do a prorated refund. You do have 60 days to cancel for a full refund (less any claims), but after that it's basically "part of the car"

If you have any questions, check out nissanservicewarranty.com or give me a call @ (864) 918-1234 and I can make you a deal!

Thanks,

i'm currently deciding between the Gold Preferred and Gold Plans.

what's the cost difference like between the 36mth/45000mile Gold Preferred Plan and the 48mth/48000mile Gold Plan?
