Would this little thing work, and actually attract little metal debris? i don't see why it wouldn't.

That would definitley work. Another idea for the same purpose is a magnetic thing that goes around the oil filter, and it grabs particles and keeps them in the filter. Then when you throw it out, they all come out.

Those kick ***, my old blazer had a magnetic drain plug stock and after the break in mileage I was GLAD for it, it caught a lot of little metal shavings!

Your transmission should have a magnet on the drain plug. Drain your transmission fluid and check out how much crap there is on the magnet.

When I drained my train fluid, I had all kinds of metal shavings and junk. I don't see how this is rice though. My opinion on rice is it has to be all looks and no function, but this product has a very procuctive use. I say if you got 15 bux to blow you should get it. It will work. JM2C. -Jeromy

yep they do, dad has one on his porsche 944 from factory, pretty cool lil doo-whackey, plus its a great diagnostic tool, kinda like the metal screens people put on their oil filters

Your motor will last much longer due to less frictional wear. But thats obvious I guess...and assuming you do your regular mantainance.

i really wouldnt think you would have alot of metal moving around your engines oil system. your transmission is a difrent story though.

during the break-in period you would have alot of metal shavings in your engine. If you didn't have some sort of magnetic device to remove them from the the system, they will most likely just remain the system and may potentially cause engine damage/failure. This is a cause of lost compression as well.
