Im getting a 2011 altima coupe 2011 and will be swapping out the 17" standard wheels with 19" rims and low profile tires (30mm-40mm). Will I have to adjust the odometer?

The dealership told me most likely I will not have to alter the suspension, so will the odometer be fine?

Thanks

It will affect the odometer, making it greater than 10-15% slow, assuming you're getting tires with 30-40mm of sidewall height.

To get even close to that sidewall height, you're going to need a tire with an aspect ratio of somewhere south of 20, which should be near impossible to find for a 19" rim.

Plus, if you do find a tire with that profile, you'll probably scrub on everything, especially if you plan on dropping the ride height.

Okay, Darn, so it will make the odometer display a speed that is 10% slower than what I am going. I do not plan on dropping the ride, just swapping the rims. I think the tires will be around 30-40mm like you said.

Try this, you will know what tires to put on so that speedo is close to real speed.

My mistake... The speedo will read as being fast. So if you're cruising along at 55 mph with the tiny sidewall tires, you'll actually be going 50 or less.

I would recommend either a 35 or 40 aspect ratio tire for 19" rim.

ya i just used the calculator from the guys link above, if I use 215/35/19 tires it will be exactly the same speed, no difference, so as long as there is nothing wrong with 215MM tires instead of 235 or 240 Then it should be good huh?

215 will be STRETCHED on a 8" wheel.. you need to quote the wheel size

Here is a good tire/wheel calculator for you. enter your stock dimensions on one side and enter your new specs on the right, you can play around with it to see what fits best. http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp the site used to give you recommendations of tire size to get based on the rim size but they removed that feature
