I have been thinking pretty hard about getting the 4.08 rear end conversion so I can get a little more torque out of the Q. Does anyone know if this is what I need? I don't exactly have 850 to buy a brand new one.

Brand new diffs are over $2400 retail.

Nissan already bumped up the ratio [4.4%] in the 97-2001 to 3.694 vs the 3.538 used in 90-96 to try to compensate for the smaller engine and slight change in 16" tires.

Whether another 10.5% [4.083] would be worth the downsides in highway fuel mileage or changes in shift mph.

20-22 lb/ft [rear wheel torque] can yield 0.2 seconds [decrease] in a quarter mile IF you don't add an extra shift in the process!

Whether a 2.2% increase in acceleration is worth doing is questionable.

Also the 90-96 diffs are different from the 97 and later.

Well, I realize I wouldn't be gaining a huge amount of power. I just wanted to see if what was being sold in that auction was what I would need to get the 20 lb/ft of torque. It is only at 200 dollars right now, so I was just thinking about it. Thanks
