would this cone filter work?

Just looking at ebay and was wondering if this cone filter would work or is it the exact same thing as K&N? What is the MAF adaptor? Is that in the K&N also?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=6755

i dont know...ive just heard that K&N are crap and they dont actually increase horsepower or do anything positive. Wondering if this was any different?
