would this be a good start for a bone stock 1989 240?

you get wat u pay for but ive seen some ebay kits that are still goin after 3 yrs on low boost with good maintenance

^ if everything quality expect to spend about 3000$ plus tuning (another 500$ or so) but u can part together a used kit for alot cheaper!

ebay turbos can be good if broken in right... manifolds on the other hand can be bad. i have never owned an ebay turbo but have a few friends who have them and they have had no complains. i have an ebay manifold and i had it crack like non other. i just re-welded it and water tested and now no problems. As for the intercooler pipe, i have an ebay car specific kit and it fit good just had to have the hot pipe welded for my turbo.

he's right on the manifolds.if u dnt brace em they will break.i have one on my civic.i welded 1/4 in steel from the 2 flanges.then the wastegate weld broke -_-

i just had a whole lot of cracks in the manifold. i re-welded everything and now need new gaskets.

but welds make the manifold weaker

Not necessarily, usually wells dont break in the same spot

KA-t!!! lol i stand firm to prove my boys 200sx wrong. no replacement for displacement in words of grand turismo lol
idk i welded my old log style bout 10 times with a stick weleder and weld kept cracking dead center.think it was jus a stress point

get a jgs manifold it abot 460 shipped but that thing will not crack the best you could get on the market for ka-et.
