Would the dealer have to take the wheel off to get to Fuel Pressure Regulator?

My wife took the car to the dealer to get the fuel pressure regulator put in, they told her they took out the back seat to get to it(which they failed to put back in place securely), but yesterday when the car was sitting at the house i noticed the hubcab sticking out to the side, I went over and tried to tap it back in but it wouldnt stay, So i pulled it off at the top where it was still attached and all the plastic clips fell out of the bottom?? So I have a broken hub cap with NO signs of curbing, which leads me to beleive they tried to take it off and broke it at the dealer.............Just looking for someone that would know for sure if they would have to take the passenger side rear tire off to fix or troulbeshoot that, So i can have a good arguement for replacing the hubcap AND re attaching the seat back.

nope the recall requires only removal of the rear seat cushion to gain access to the fuel tank. Entire recall can be done with all tires on the ground.

Did you or your wife have them rotate the tires and do an oil change while they had the vehicle??

I had mine replaced and didn't notice anything weird about the wheels or the seat. I didn't even know that they had to put the seat down. The car looked the same way that I dropped it off as.

Maybe the dealer was checking something else on your Versa?

No she just went in for the problem of the car not starting properly....I had a feeling it was the FPR after reading posts on here but i figured they were diagnosing the problem and perhaps took the tire off to look at the fuel tank or something ?

Well took it back to the dealer and the guy said to save an arguement we are going to go ahead and give you a hubcap....he did say that it had been since May of this year sice they had the wheels off.......I think after they found out that one of the guys broke the seat bottom getting into the regulator.....that anything was possible....Had to special order a seat bottom, but I am Thrilled that they replaced the hubcap.....I went in with my fists up because i knew it was going to be a fight but it really worked out in my favor! Just goes to show it never hurts to ask!
