Hey guys, haven't really posted on the forums much but a long time reader, so howdy yall. I decided to degrease and clean my engine bay today, and repaint my valve cover a nice high gloss black. In the process of painting it, the wire I had it hanging from in my backyard broke and it fell on the concrete. A small piece chipped off on the outside edge of it and I was wondering if anyone could give some insight if it would still hold up and seal by my crappy pictures. I'm going to run it like this for a bit and try when my new gasket gets in from my local Nissan shop, but in the meantime I felt like posting here. I put a peice of the old gasket on and there isnt a hole or gap or anything, the inside edge where the gasket rests in seems to seal it, but ya never know

Thanks for all the help!

Since the inside edge is OK i don't think you will have to worry about it.

Haha nice, first person I've seen on here from my town. It's nothing special...yet, pretty much stock except a few things here and there. Getting some coilovers and new wheels soon, then I'm going to do a slight rebuild and turbo it. The valve cover seals btw, just looks kinda janky... the gasket pops out a little bit after torqueing it down and from the heat, even after messing with it for a good while. But oh well, it works for now. New valve covers aren't too hard to come across, pnp ftw! Really need to repaint the hood lol...
