Armin Van Buuren. Consistently voted one of the top producars/artists is DJ Magazine. Amazing talent. Can take the most blaze track and turn it into gold. I enjoy his sets from Club Eau both 2000 and 2002. Also his Radio 1 Essential Mix from The Rebublic in Holland from 2003. Also look for Basic Instinct CD1&2 as well as his sets from Sensation White 2002 and 2003. Amazing stuff

Infected Mishroom. Duv Dev and Arez are two of the MOST talented musicains I have ever heard. Between the two of them, they can play over 30 instruments! The Israeli duo blew up the Goa/Psy Trance scene with sets like Brotherhood Beach Party and their live set with Bari Saharof from the Eilat Desert in Israel in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Now, they are the hottest selling trance act worldwide pulling in over 150,000 sales of their latest album Converting Vegetarians in the first 6 months of its release. Also check out such anthemic tracks as "Bust a Move", "Deeply disturbed", "Dainai", "Dancing With Kildafi", and many amny others. Their sound mixes traditional trance with jazz, funk, and almost any other genre you can think of. However, they are not for the newcomer to trance. They are pretty out there:)

Other artists to check out are: Sasha, Carl Cox, Judge Joules, John Digweed, Astrix, Yahel, Gouryella, Boards of Canada, BT, Ferry Corsten, Orbital and Delirium.

Feeling like some classic D&B? Hit up LTJ Buken and DJ Krush. Killer stuff.

Chill Out? Cafe Del Mar, Solar Stone, Lemon Jelly.

On a side note: My cat is actually named after Armin van Buuren;)

Thanks for the nice write up, LTJ is one of my fav. for the trip-hop/ dnb genre (as well as Dj Krush, I have actually bought 2 of his albums). About half of those artists mentioned I have some songs from, so I'll try out the other half:) I am no newcomer to trance been into electronic music since 5th grade.

One artist you may like that, for some reason aren't too well known (as much as the others like, lets say Dj Krush) is a band call Hybrid, Very nice mix of vocal trance/acid jazz/trip hop. Fatal Beating, Altitude (Red Square Reprise), High Life, and Blackout are a few from them.

Keep the suggestions coming people:)

I really think you would like Infected Mushroom then. They take some getting used to, but they pretty much dominate my MP3 player in my car, my iPod and my Winamp play time (I have about 75 tracks by them)

two of my favorite 2 disc sets are:trancemission to raveland (available at amazonand club inferno

alsodream dance volume 45 is a two disc set, good house and trance.

And slammin shaun's disc from 2001 has a really good mix of all the popular electronic "hits" of that year.

I'm big into compilations because I have found that with techno, its rare to find one artist with a decent full length album. Excepts include:scooter (all) especially "stadium experience"his older stuff is awesome, including singles "nessajah" and "the logical song."

I'm sure you've heard it/have it alread, but prodigy's early cut "experience" is an awesome disc thats been in my collection since the mid 90's and still gets regular playtime.

anyway of course thats all what I like and everyone's tastes are different, but I'm sure there is something to like out of that bunch. I'm into the softer trance side of things for the most part, the heavy hardcore 240 bpm stuff I save for bad days/working out/ breaking stuff.

S.U.N. Project - Edge of TimeGenetic Spin - Shaolin GrooveDave Mahan feat. Gabriel and Dresden - I Need You*

*pretty much everything by Gabriel and Dresden is great - Beachball, Beautiful Things, Summer Calling are all very good tracks.

Also try Ayla vs. Safri Duo - Sunrise.

Most of the things you say, i live by... but i have to differ.

Mc Navigator is the crap of crap. No rhytm, no rhymes, no skill....Made Ak look bad.

Roni, is good, and J5 is GGGRRREEATT!!!

Look at Skibadee, Brockie, Det, for great Mc Skills.

Boombox.net is one of my favorite sites.....

Also try http://www.digitallyimported.com (if it's still up and running)

It has streaming audio in a variety of genres, Trance, House, Goa/Psy, etc. And most of it is good stuff you don't really hear anywhere else.

I was really let down by Bunkka. As of late, he has gotten really cheezy and clubby. Nothing like Live from the Rojan Shanghai, China (99) or Goa Mix Silver (96). Oakie just has gotten too cliche for me.

On a side note, I am planning on attending either TAS 2006 or Sensation White 2005/06 as a graduation present to myself:D
