Would it go for 12G'z?

Here is the situation. I'm transfering to a University in fall, and will be commuting. my y33 gets 10mpg. so, i HAVE to sell her. I want your opinion on whether the car will sell for $12,000 cuz thats how much the new car i want to buy costs. So, the car is a 98Q, 130K, excellent condition, 2dvd screens on headrest, High Definition stereo, 20" MRR HR3 rims, cima grille, chrome pillars, HID lights, and a PS2 in the car. Do you think I would be able to sell it for 12G'z? If not for how much?

You will not get 12. Those kinds of mods can bring down the value of the car.

Mileage (130K) and 20" wheels are two biggest issues. Mileage will limit the price and 20" wheels will limit the number of people interested.

My guess is you could get $7k-8K. If you find a guy who loves everything you did to the car you might get 10k.

Are you stuck in rush hour traffic all day? How heavy are those wheels anyway?

10 MPH, that seems very very low. You do live in LA so that hurts MPG for sure but I usually don't get less than 15 when I list LA. I get close to 19 combine in the Bay Area but not like LA traffic.

It think Jesda is correct, it will be hard to get 12k, 10k would be a target. If you had 60k than yes, but 120k is already alot and will limit your audience.

Dude. My 92 Q stock has 85K and i wish i could get 12K for it. But it's just not going to happen.

Thanks everybody. Appreciate the advice. Please understand, all your mint Q's have no mods. Mine has a lot. Also in LA there arnt many moded Q's. Also, I'm going for a younger buyer, who will actually appreciate those things. Anyways, we'll see whats gona happen. Peace.

But he has a limited target audience in mind. Maybe if the wheels were chromed he could appeal to a riskier but higher income segment with more disposable income stored in brown paper bags?

i feel everyone on how much you can/can't get. 12 is optimistic on the general market. may be attainable if you are willing to wait on just the right person with the mix of repect for your mods & available funds to pay for them. post some pics, it sounds like a tight ride whether you sell or keep

I dont know.... 12k is kinda harsh for a car that has 130k miles.. Im yung, and im saying that out my mouth. Actually there are small dealerships who do that.. The only people end up buying from them is the 18 yr olds and some dope dealers.. As we get a lil more mature, for some reason, we tend to look for a car with the less mile, not the one with the best mods. Really, i wish i coulda part with my Q, cause really, honestly, today it can go. But i know im not getting 6 grand for it. Otherwise, the sucka can leave TODAY!!. Im not trying to bring down ur hopes or nothing. What id rather u do is take some time and think about it. If i were u, id try my best to take the wheels and the music out and go back factory. ANd sell it to somebody who wants it. If you luck up and get a yunger person, u can tell em u got mods for it. But its gonna be hard to sell 20s.. I cant buy a slap, that takes the fun out of me slabbing my on ride..
