they are the ones that I used to take all of the pictures in my big thread. I don't have a use for them right now, and I am having to downsize a bunch of my motor stuff because the new house I moved into has a smaller garage. They are complete with cams, have been cleaned, surfaced, valve job done, new seals, and the springs have been shimmed .060" over stock.

Would anyone be interested in them?

What purpose does shimming the springs serve?

I would think it increases the spring preload, closing the valves faster/harder and generally just reducing valvebounce, marginally increasing the safe redline of the engine.

Shims increase the spring pressure, which in turn allows you to safely rev the engine higher without valve float or allow you to run a larger lift/steeper ramp profile camshaft.

The new seals are metal clad style viton.

I was thinking around 300 + shipping??

Will these heads fit a 1990 Q45? Would there be any modifications or would they be a bolt on?

Does anyone have a contact info for the defrag010, the email address is not working for them.

I need a set of heads for a 1990 Q45, I saw your information on the heads and would like to know if they can work with my stock engine. Let ,me know your thoughts and are they available

ThanksStewart678-725-9566

Didn't see this thread. The heads aren't stock anymore because I was keeping them stock so I could figure out a drop-in valvetrain. Now that I have finished that, I just started cutting into them hardcore this wee.., so when I'm finished they will have a serious valvetrain that will be able to handle any cam and any rpm you can throw at it.
