Hey fellas, just of this. I have a Samsung android and was wondering would it work in the usb port in the m37s, my mp3 doesn't work in it, went to the dealership and they informed me that only ipod mp3 would work, this was like when I first got the car last year. I got my android tablet this year and never really thought about it until now, I did a search on the forum to try and find this information out but came up with zero fellas, might have overlooked it though, any help would be appreciated, thanks

I have my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 connected via bluetooth for phone functions & to play audio. It works just fine. Plugging it in to the usb, on the other hand, doesn't really work.

New Android L is adding native USB music streaming. Sit tight for fall release unless you get a Nexus 5 and load the developer preview image.

...or head over to XDA and see if a custom ROM based off Android L (5.0) is available for your current Android device. That's how I'm heading when one is released for my Note 3....oops sorry...got carried away...wrong forum :chuckle:

...anyways it could be done (what the OP is asking) if you are running ICS or JellyBean, BUT your Android device needs to be rooted to be able to install one of the few apps that turns it into a USB Mass Storage Device in order for the car software to recognize the storage in your Android device. See, currently your tablet is most likely trying to hook up to the car as a MTP device but that wont work because your tablet is acting like a "mp3 player" instead of a "flash drive". Anyways as I stated earlier you could go to XDA Developers to get more info on this for your specific Android device.

...last, my take on this is that it would just be less of a hassle to either play ur stored music via Bluetooth or load it all on a flash drive...or both!

I've never had an issue with any of my android phones. Try pairing it this way.

1. Pair the phone to the car's bluetooth as a "PHONE".
2. After that's done, wait for it to download your phonebook.
3. Tap the connect bluetooth button in the bluetooth menu on the radio. When it asks if you're connecting a phone, tap "No". Choose the same passcode that you used for connecting the phone. (Mine was 1234).
4. Go into bluetooth settings on your android. Tap on the "cogwheel" next to "MY-CAR" (or whatever your car's bluetooth name is) then tap the checkbox for "media audio" (Call Audio should already be checked).
5. That's it!!

Let me know if that works. There is more than one way to do it but that's how I've always done it with no issues.

Does Infiniti use the same system as Nissan in terms of the wireless audio?

Bumpity bump!

Shout out to majestic king for these instructions saving me on my road trip. Old trusty Galaxy S4 paired audio successfully :dblthumb:

Responding to a super old post...I don't think this is still possible, even with Nougat (haven't tried Oreo). I should try again once I go up to 8.0. The car is not able to read the phone storage...

However, now that I'm thinking about it...maybe it's only phones that have expandable storage (external)...but phones with just one 'storage location' (internal) work fine? I'm on a Pixel XL right now.

I am also on Pixel XL. They pushed 8.0 last week. You should have it by now. I haven't tried using the USB because I stream my music. My understanding was that only iPhones would work back then; not sure now. I will check though just out of curiosity with the Oreo update.

Oh I can get it...I'm holding off because I'm rooted (Magisk) and have a custom kernel. Need to make sure everything supports O before I switch.

Cool - never got around to rooting Nougat...last root I had was on Marshmallow Note 3 since Samsung has so much bloatware. Might hold off rooting on Pixel XL for now. Seems to run fine as is. Bluetooth and phone calls work great with the M as well as my wife's Acura RDX. Only minor issue with Pixel XL seems to be with my LG wireless headset. Music will cut out intermittently only when the phone is holstered. My Bose wireless noise cancelling headset works great.
