Im at a local shop and a talon pulls in and the shop is tuning it for him I look under the hood and see a huge turbo, so I talk to the owner and said the turbo is off a Cummins Turbo diesel engine. I know where I can get one cheap and would like to try this but if you guys think its a waste of time then i wont do it. So do you think its to big or do you think its even worth accomplishing which wouldn't be the hardest part. I know I could make it fit just if it would boost fast or enough to get me in to the 11 sec range with my 240.

exactly ^^ these turbos are designed for trucks that dont care about lag and have 12 liters of displacement you realy want that?

The reason those turbos do spool as fast as they do is they have all that displacement to back it up. I believe just about all of those diesels(at least from the big 3) are about 6.0+ liters. You would be trying to spool that turbo with 1/3 of the displacement. It would prove to be really laggy and I'm not sure if you would make that much power, plus the powerband would look ugly as well. You could find something much nicer with dual ball bearings that could put you into the 11's. But you do realize what comes along with that correct?

Ask him how much he wants for it.I'll use a litle bit of spray to make it spool

Its prob an HX 35 or an HX40 from a dodge cummins turbo diesel ram truck, the HX 35 has a compressor wheel like a t61-1 and a tubine side like a stage 4 t3,the HX40 has a compressor side like a t70 they say with a tubine like a t4...the DSM guys use a special turbine housing made by a company called bullseye thats smaller that the turbine than what the dodge cummins uses and allows them to bolt it right onto a stock exhaust manifold of a DSM with pretty decent spoolup(like 4000rpms with an HX35)....now bullseye makes a hybrid HX40 compressor side with an HX35 turbine wheel for quicker spoolup and massive topend....I cant wait until I see one the DSM guys use an HX35 with a 2.4 stroker motor, can ya say nasty streetcar?hehe
