it could cause your clutch to slip. before you replace them. try bleeding the lines.

i know my friends clutch kept slipping. put a new clutch and slave didnt fix the problem. then he got rid of the clutch damper and put a one piece braided steel line and re bled it now no more slippage

I replaced and bled the slave and master yesterday. Honestly I'm afraid to drive it cause I'm thinking about selling it. The slave crapped out and leaked most of the fluid out. Was a fun drive home, learned a bit about clutchless shifting and pumping the pedal to get enough pressure to slide it into first when stopped. It slipped once when I got on it.I kinda want to take it out and dump it to see if it grabs, but I don't wanna burn up what may only be a little material that is left.

honestly, I don't see how a bad master or slave cylinder can cause a clutch to slip. the only purpose the slave and the master is just to depress that little withdrawal lever on the transmission for shifting... unless of course you have a seized slave/master cylinder that isn't letting go of that lever... that may cause slippage

Well, I manned up and took it on a beat run. Clutch grabs great! Dropped it a bunch of times and no slippage whatsoever. So I guess a bad cylinder, be it master or slave can cause a clutch to slip.

replace both, they are dirt cheap. My friend got the master and slave for like 45 bucks for both from Napa.

Is there a posibility that the withdrawal lever could be loose? When I press my clutch pedal, there is a squeaking sound from the pedal and around the slave cyl/ lever area. The base seems to be a bit loose though. I was thinking the problem could be from the master cylinder but I just need some more insight.-Arash

I'm contemplating getting new cylinders and SS lines. Would I just have to unplug the lines, remove the cylinders, replace them and add new fluids then bleed? Or is there more to it?
