What car are you talking about? The 3.5 coupe?
If you are talking about the 3.5 coupe standard wheel, it is a 17" x 7.5" wheel. You can put up to a 235/50/17 on that and actually see no difference in your speedometer reading, nor will it look bad - it will look exactly the same way your OEM tire does. The sidewall is still going to be the same width - instead of taking 55% of your 215 width, you are taking 50% of your 235 width - it all works out in the end to the same measuring height. And 235 is fine to put on as the measuring wheel width for a 235/50/17 tire is a 7.5" wheel.
So yes, your 225 will work too...but it will be slightly smaller than stock.
