Just what i was thinking. I would go with Stoptechs like previously stated. Pick em up!marlin29311 wrote:Add them to richie's list
If your Z is non Brembo, like mine, I'd suggest the Stoptech BBK kit , which comes with everything. Stainless lines, their slotted rotors, fluid, pads. Stoptech included Axxess pads which didn't thrill me, so I went with Ferodo's. You won't seeimprovement in cold brake performance on the street, but they are downright awesome on the track when they get hot. Stoptechs are a bit pricey but for what I do with them, they were well worth it to me. Oh, the BBK's require 18" wheels minimum.rmezz13 wrote:http://www.injectedperformance...ID=36
sounds good to me... any takers? any haters?
Drilling also reduces surface area of pad contact. Thus increasing the heat in the rotor. The increased heat and less surface, even though material strength has gotten better over the years, still increases the chances of cracking.Anthonysflying wrote:Why do they state that drilled is only for aesthetic purposes. I was under the impression that drilled rotors had evolved enough in the design department that cracking was no longer a major issue.
This is where quality buying comes into play.High quality drilled rotors for street driving helps give your pads more leading edges to bite on for better braking...also during rainy times, water evacuation is one of their key benefits of drilled rotors.Anthonysflying wrote:Why do they state that drilled is only for aesthetic purposes.
