Hello Nico. Its been a while. I used to have a 93 coupe and a 96 240sx and lived off of this site when my parents exiled me to live with my grandparents ha. Im sellin my 97 Mustang Cobra to pay off debt and get rid of a money pit. I just wanted yalls opinion on this 240 as a dd/project. 76k original miles, owned by an old lady the whole time. Its a family friend that is selling it for her. He said it cranks right up and drives and the transmission works good. The problems are the passenger window was broken in, the alternator doesnt work ( so he says, i think its the battery ), and the brakes need bleeding. posting the link. he said he would take 800 for it. i think its a steal, at least around here. people are asking too much for 240s now adays.

Thanks guys. Hope to be back in the 240 scene soon

Yaaaa its the only thing i could think of for some numbers. Im just a reservist. I wish i would have gone active though. I think old lady driven, 76k original miles, and seemingly minor problems is a pretty good cheap start for a project.

Look for rust/rot in the normal places. I mean its rough around the edges but i see no more then a day cleaning that thing up to look good. If you wont grab it someone will then bam no more opportunity to get a good project car. If i lived closer id get it in a heart beat to throw my extra KAT into.

my advice? ur selling one money pit for another money pit. lol if u plan to daily it then leave it as is fix the minor s*** drive the piss out of it. low wheels ur done. if ur wanting to project forget it. auto is a bad start for this imo (especially when u can buy a manual for the same price) so ud already be in the hole somewhat. unless u cant drive stick then nm. lol

Great advice. I just need to clarify. This is not an all out project... im talkin about like years in the making. Just little things here and there. I can drive a stick just as well as the next guy but for this price and my situation i think its a good deal. The mustang isnt a project its just a POS kinda. For 1k it would be ok to drive but i dont have the money and its gettin pretty unsafe ( tires are completely bald like not even kidding, and it needs some stuff for the suspension to get it alignable and safe)

ya thats what im hoping. Bleed the brakes, tape up that window until i can find one, and put a battery in it and hope it was just an old battery... if not then ill just put an alternator in it. 240sx parts are so much cheaper than mustang cobra parts haha its awesome
