The car is a 89 two tone (green,silver) coupe. The exterior looks damn good for an 89. Slight fading on the front bumper around the headlight area. Minor dents on pass. door. Very minor scratches, but nothing to major. Interior looked good, but dash had 4 big cracks on it. Missing the actual glass mirror for the pass. side mirror. Tint is bubbled. Needs rear shocks, HUD isnt working correctly anymore, and the engine starts but is having a knocking sound. Water in the oil, so a new engine will be needed of course.
The fella wants 1300 after taxes.
How much would a new engine be? Easy to swap in a DOHC in place of the SOHC? Shocks cheap? HUD?

no way, i had the same car but had leather and power everything (moonroof, windows, locks, mirrors) Ac perfect, hud perfect, everything that was supposed to work did. The engine ran fine. I took it to the track once, all i had was custom cat back and some heavy *** 16" crome rims and i got a 16.9 out of it. Oh it was a auto and i hit the rev limiter like 4 times cause of a lazy shift. The engine never had any probs. Body was good except one rust spot which was estimated at 200 fix. I blew the transmission and sold the car for 800. friend had a similar coupe with blown engine good body with rims bought for 400 and another for 300. I bought my car with everything working for 1500
