Worst song ever, and why?

I nominate Third Eye Blind's "Non-Dairy Creamer"

Banal lyrics are commonplace among pop songs, but you get the unfortunate feeling that Non-Dairy Creamer is trying to take itself seriously. Its not like Third Eye Blind is incapable of tackling serious subjects with pop glitter like they did in "Semi Charmed Life" or "Jumper".

At least its catchy.

I like mindless pop, but when mindless pop tries to be thoughtful and clever beyond its ability, it loses its appeal. This is why, despite being a foot-tapping little song, its awful for trying so hard but coming up so short.

I still have it in regular rotation on my playlist.

Non-dairy creamer isn't bad. I think Jesda just reads too deeply into some things. Third Eye Blind has done a great job of bringing harsh subjects into mainstream music and still making them poppy.

i listen to symphony x mostly. i just haven't found a band as good.

Wow, am I the only one who thinks that "Crank Dat" by Soulja Boy is quite possible the worst and most annoying song ever made? I have a pretty eclectic mix of music in my collection, hell I even have this just because it's that stupid (plus I like the background rhythm they stole from Commando) , but I could probably make a better CD than this kid, but I'd rather not embarrass myself like that just to get rich.

In the 90s, the only mainstream avenues for music about drug abuse and death were grunge and rap. 3EB's gimmick was putting a glossy, polished sheen on harsh subjects. NDC does nothing clever, and the subject matter isn't original or interesting for 2008. Its a good listen without the words though.

Ursa Major grew on me. They've evolved their sound without sounding like they're stuck in the past.
