SO I am driving to work and there is this big peice of concrete ont he freeway that I didn't see.... Bam!! I hit it... I know I Fuked up someting... I pull over and I did... I got a huge dent on my rim and ripped the side wall of my tire... GREAT!!! They are 1 month old!!!!!! I hope I can get it fixed. I didn't even check to see if it did any damage to my kit. I was sooo pissed off that I just drove back home. I got my dad's car and came to work.

it doesn't end there:

I get here and my Supervisor comes and takes our team in a meeting. Tells me that there are going to be lay-offs. My heart just skips a beat. Luckily I was not one of them. but 2 people from our office were laid off and many more from the our other office.

and this was the start of the day. I still have to look fwd to the rest of the day...YEAY!!!

sorry but I had to vent... thank you for reading and have a great day!

Tell the state... they should pay for damages caused by the roads and stuff like that.

I had almost the same thing happen to me, it was at night and the thing looked like a plastic bag, boy was i ever wrong. It was an eight inch high or so chunk of cement. It put a nice gash in the side of the tire, luckily i made it home and thank god i was driving my brother's neon, not my baby.

How exactly do these mysterious "Chunks-o-Cement" get into the road? Do they fall off bridges?

Well, im not sure, but when it happened to me I was in a very bad part of town, the same part of town that some little punk threw a brick through my best friends window in his 67 buick GS (455, very fast). So im thinking that the little bastards have nothing better to do than put stuff in the road and watch people either hit it or swerve. Just my .02

whoa, for a second, after reading the title of this post, I was thinking you may have crashed! Thank goodness you didn't, I've actually heard stories of people writing to the man and they actually did reimburse cash for bent rims and so on, its a long process though. It could have been worse.

life is never so bad, that it can't get any worse ~

Yea the state gov will usually pay for damages inflicted by the roadways, my mom hit a huge pothole on a crapy rual road and rolled her cherokie into a ditch and the state payed most of it (i guess thigs like that had happened on that road before because the pavement is buckled and the road is basically sideways), but yea im sure they will have somthing to say to you.
