I had the worst experience in the delivery of a new car today. It was amazing and every time I thought it could not get any worse - it did!

I actually purchased the car last Monday night but because I would not have the remaining down payment amount until today, I was coming back to finish the deal. Mind you, I have given them all of my information, signed all of the paperwork, everything is ready to go or so I thought when I left Monday night.

I contacted the salesman, not once but twice to let him know that I would be in around noon on Friday to take delivery of the car, my time was limited and I would appreciate him having things ready. We had a misting rain today so I was really surprised to see my new Nismo sitting out in the open and not under the covered area that they had on the other side of the dealership when I arrived. I met the salesman and all I needed to do was hand over my check. The salesman could not find any financial people for 15-20 minutes. Finally I sit down with this guy (not the person I dealt with on Monday) and he starts talking to me about my new TRUCK! I am like, what are you talking about!! I am not buying a truck! Finally, he realizes he is looking at someone else's information packet, has to get up and go find mine. GEEEEZZZZ and it gets better.....

So a few minutes later he returns with my package, reaches across the desk and snatches the check. I mean I know I had it laying there, but he doesn't even ask me for it, just grabs it. So he does the dmv stuff and I am like, it's been a week why has this not been done but it only takes a few minutes, he calls the salesman in and hands him the plates. Hands me the registration card and says goodbye. I walk out of that office and my salesman asks me if I want the plates put on the car now? I say yes of course, I am leaving with it. AND he is like, oh I thought maybe your were coming back for it later??? WHAT drugs was this guy taking?! He puts the plates on the car, comes back in and I am like okay - we're done. No, need to go over the owner's books and call the insurance company. Again, I had given the insurance information, agent name, phone number everything to them on Monday night! So I had to get on the phone with my agent and add the car - but my agent is cool and that only took 5 minutes. We go over the books - this amounts to the salesman holding each one up and saying this is the owners manual, this is the warranty manual and so on. Unbelievable. Then he tells me they need to update my email address. I have probably emailed this salesman and his boss a half dozen times or more while working on the deal and now they don't have my correct email address? We head out to the car and I notice that the window sticker has been pulled off and laid in the passenger seat, but adhesive on the window hasn't been cleaned off. He doesn't bother to show me anything about the car, features, operating issues, nothing, nada. (Not that I needed it, but what the hell?) So I finally get to leave and as I am pulling away I realize my shoes are slipping on the pedals, I stop and look and the damn plastic is still covering all of the pedals! So peel that off and then off I go.

Oh I forgot to mention that when I test drove the car on Monday, the salesman sent me out with an empty tank. I had to stop and I put 5 gallons in it. When I got back, I asked about collecting my gas money and the salesman said they would make it good on the first service visit, I told him no way but I had to wait until today and collect it from the financial person. I should have known then that this guy was a real winner.

Sorry for the long post - but I should have been able to pick this car up in less than 30 minutes. I was at the dealership for close to two hours, I have left out a lot of the standing around time.

The Nismo is absolutely awesome, tight, good power and looks great. Mine is the dark charcoal grey that really sets the wheels off nicely.

Should mention the dealer and sale rep name so future Nissan owners can steer away.

If anyone wants that information, I will reply to their email. Mine is [email protected], just but "worst delivery" in the subject line.

I don't want to throw the entire dealership under the bus because the manager was a straight-shooter and the finance lady I worked with on Monday did her job very well and I appreciated it. I simply had the wrong salesman.

Well, if it ever quits raining around here so I can clean it up and then snap a pic I will. I haven't driven the car on a dry road yet!!
