hey guys i have a big concern i was out practcing my driving and on the way home the ka started making a lot tic-tic or clak-clak sound. i stoped ad a gas station and looked under the hood and the sound was comeing from the front top part of the engine. im hopping its just the timing chain guides!!! but i have a feeling that it could be a bent valve or something. i does it the most when i go above 2.5-3 rpm. what do you guys think i have a new nico member on he way (baby) and i cant afford to have my 240 break down on me cause im still 2300 short of my sr swap.

that sounds like a valve, which means it could be a worn out lifter or a spring goin bad, either way its a bit of work but its not too hard to replace

haha 2300 short, thats pretty much the whole thing...

Are you sure it isnt just a exhaust shield rattle? Give 'em all a shake including the ones under your car.

is this a kae or kade? noises on the 2 can mean very different things. I would hazard a guess at your timing guide/s. The only time i've ever heard a ka make valve noises is when its low on oil.

If your engine runs healthy, i seriously doubt it is a bent valve. It is more likely that your timing chain guides are acting up. If you've got backfiring, sluggishness, and sputtering, then sorry kid, you've got valvetrain issues.

Wow. Get a good litigator, best advise I can give.

As far as the noise goes if you are interested still, it usually is valve knock if you rev the engine too hard after being really angry at your Gf. Talk to me.

seriously dont worry about not seein the kid thing although the laws kick fathers in the a$$ you still have the right to see the kid if you want to. also my ka knocks and ticks sometimes too mines a sohc but everytime mine started making noise it was due to running low on oil.
