hello new to the forum..
ive just got my i30 and noticed theres no subwoofer in the enclosure where it should be so my bose system is lacking.. i have a 15 inch orion hcca 2000rms/4000peak subwoofer and a 3000 watt power acoustik class d thats been laying around for awhile.. i was wanting to install it into this car but have no idea going about it since the stock headunit takes up so much space and an aftermarket one wouldn't fill the gap... and also is there anyway to tie into the existing amp and/or old sub wire hookup? i was also worried about the power supply i dont know how many amps the alternator is rated..so im just stuck at if it would need to be gutted from front to back or if theres someway to add my extreme low bass to bose's highs....any ideas..anyone...?

Man sounds like you need some custom work. I think with the right adapters you could use that amp and sub with the stock head unit. As for the space the stock radio would leave if you took it out, a shop can custom make you a set up so there will be no gap. You just gotta find a good stereo shop near you..... Google.com

Just remember if you're going to start pushing thousands of watts through your car, you may also wanna think about supporting components. Better battery, alternator...

Any shop that would be making the dash kit for you would be charging you a few hundred. I'd just use a line level adapter off the factory bose and call it a day. You won't have the sub output control, but it will be cheaper and look nicer.

OHHHHH! I didn't realize that they finally made one for that car. looks like that has only been out for a few months. I certainly made a few bucks off of people making custom ones for a while.

thank you TIGERSHARKDUDE for the website ive been searching the forums on what to do for replacing the headunit and everyones been telling me theres ONE guy in the philipines or japan or something... who custom makes them and you have to buy it through ebay... but at a few hundred for that i passed...but 40 dollars for some plastic... no problem... and ive had a few confrontations with audio express...(which is one of the only audio stores around me) i live in Ofallon / saint charles area...theres alot of places down off of st charles rock road area and down in the city... but everytime ive gone into one down in the city area they want an arm and a leg for basic low wattage crap...also THECONVERTED are you talking about those $20 dollar converters that you splice into an existing speaker wire and hook up the rca's to? if so im using one in my other car but the sound quality is poor and i feel like a headunit would provide better power and stability...but i dont know...all help is and has been greatly appreciated

I recommend ripping everything BOSE out of your car and starting over

haha whys that? sounds decent turned up just missing some bass..and my cars missing the woofer..
but also how hard would that be cause almost every wire ive seen on that car is bundled together and tucked away somewhere..
ive only worked on honda's and ford's and lower base models that were pretty simple.... never worked with a "luxury" car, difficult headunit, or BOSE ever..

IF YOUR WIRING IS THE SAME AS THE MAXIMA ASSUMING THAT IT IS YOU CAN BUY A HI-LOW ADAPTER AND TIE IN TO THE AUDIO INPUT OF YOUR BOSE AMP. GOOGLE YOUR COLOR CODES TO FIND WHICH IS WHICH. AS FOR YOUR BATTERY OPTIMA ALL THE WAY WITH THAT KIND OF POWER YOUR GONNA WANNA RUN 0 GAUGE WIRE GROUND AND POWER I RAN MY REMOTE WIRE TO MY TO MY CIG. LIGHTER SO THERE IT IS IN A NUT SHELL
