New here, about to lease a B17 Sentra SR at what I thought was a really good deal.

Lease is up on the '10 Rogue my wife and I have been driving for the past 37 1/2 months and the OEM tires are practically bald, and we're over mileage by 20k which sucks. When they inspect, does anyone know if they look at tires? Being we already owe $3,300 in over mileage, I don't want to spend the extra $ to replace them if I don't have to. Have a chance to pick up a used set of four 205/60 R16 tires locally for $25, but they're narrower and shorter then the current 215/70 R16s. I don't care if the speedo will be off since I won't be driving the car anymore. Just wondering if the inspector would even notice the tire size, or if he/she would just look at wear, or maybe they don't even care about tires on a lease.

Thanks, glad to be here. It was a crazy week. Found out they will charge you for tires if they are under 4/32, which all four were. They even expect the same exact sized tires to be on the car or you get charged as well.

Went crazy scouring craigslist and driving all over central NJ for the same Conti Contact 4x4 tires that were on the car, it was easy. Was lucky enough to find a guy selling a pair of very lightly used Conti's (8/32) taken off his wife's car for just $40 for the pair, then searched far and wide for another pair (6/32) which I found at a used tire shop for $90 the pair. $113 to remove, dispose the old rubber and mount and balance the better tires. I spent around $150 which in the end was money well spent. The inspector came today and told me had I left the old tires on I would've been charged $57 for each of the worn tires, wow. So now I only owe the $3,400 in mileage, just glad I didn't get charged for the few door dings, scratches and paint chips.

So to anyone else returning a Nissan lease beware of extra charges you could be liable for.

I just took home my 2013 Magnetic Grey SR tonight too, pretty happy all around.
