he could still make it work. He just needs to cut a clean slit into the glass and slide the number tabs through there. Then the for Sale ad wont get wet, but the numbers are still accesible. He just needed to think it through more.

I'm guessing the seller printed off tons of those to stick everywhere and just grabbed a copy to put in the window. If it were me, I probably would have cut off the number tabs.

Though, now that I'm seeing this everywhere, I like the idea. I think if I were selling my car I might try something like that. Honestly, look at all the publicity this is getting. I'm not claiming the seller planned this, but if not for the "FAIL" covering the number, all the information would be all over the net.
