So i just got my Z n/a a couple of weeks ago and tis a bit of a rough ride lol especially with the horrible city roads of Newark and Jersey city. So now i have to find a good Z shop to check it all out and invest in its suspension system. Now I'm very new to the mechanic scene since with a honda civic the only thing i had to remember was to change the oil. Any idea how much the upgrades will cost me? and how much better can the suspension system actually get?

You can make the suspention great on a Z,

It will still be rough beacuse it will be so tight, but your going to spend alot of money haveing a shop install new springs and struts, prob close to $1200-1500 with parts and labor

ive got Kyb adjustibles on mine with a 0.8" drop and my car feels very firm and tight around turns

You can also get some adjustiable tention rods to adjust camber or caster since it isnt adjustable on a z and they are very hard to align

id make sure all the bushings and joints are tight and dont have play in them, even if you repalced everything with OEM parts they car should ride very nice and tight like a true sports car should feel (without turbos)

Vanessa i just bought a tt last week and im getting the out of province done. i needed to replace rear inner tie rods as well as the outter tie rod ball joints. i needed new rear shocks and front tie rod bushings. then once replaced i will need an alignment. and i need new front rubber. the shop quoted me 2800$ i told them to F off. I just ordered kyb ajustable shocks front and rear, new front tierod bushings, new rear inner tierod and the outter balljoints. This costed me just under 800$ new rubber will be like 300 more. all in all 1100$ vs 2800$ is well worth it to do it yourself and if you know what your doing it should take roughly a day or 2's work. fyi.

Just wait till you have to do engine work at a shop, there will charge you so hard you wont even see it coming

Timing belt/ Waterpump $1500-1800

Injectors $600-1000

For people who are not mechanicly inclined it sucks shops will change 80-$100 for sparkplugs that can be done in 30 mins

Cheapest route to go with upgrading suspension is to do tokico hp's $275 on ebay eibach springs can be found used for good price alot of times and the 300 degree camber kit $80 then do it yourself it's not hard to do just need a spring compressor and tools.

Also to add to that, you want to look into installing strut braces... front and rear. It will give u a noticeably firmer, not so rattly ride. Does great around turns too

What you really need to do is make the chassis more rigid. A rigid chassis will transfer bumps in the road to your springs and dampers. To really get rid of all the rattle, you need a complete overhaul. Coilovers, bushings, sway bars and strut tower bars. Then since your call will be lower, you'll need tension rods at the very least to correct your alignment. I'd also suggest foam injection, since it will really stiffen up the frame of the car.

But that all costs a lot of money.

I'd look at bushings and sway bars first, with strut tower bars and coilovers later. Z's with fully built suspensions ride better than stock Z's because they have very limited chatter.
