Work up this morning, flap in trunk

When I went in my trunk this morning the passenger-side flap was on the floor of the trunk! It looks like the plastic broke at the screw that holds it in place.

Have you ever had this happen? I have a good guy who works on the top--that all he does are tops. I'd just like to get a feel for the situation before I talk to him.

I don't know. I'd talk to the top guy. Sometimes it's just nice to do things in person. Sorry I'm not more help on this one.

Mine did the same thing. Then the top stopped working. Dealer refused to cover it under extended warranty. Says the flaps are "trim."

Fortunately (sort of) shortly after this happened I was rear-ended on the freeway and the car was a total loss.

That's not quite the 'happy ending' I was hoping to hear. I hope you get a solid pay out from insurance. Best of luck!

It wasn't the one I was looking for but it turned out ok. I went from a 2011 G37 to a 2014 Q60. The REALLY unfortunate part is the Q60 does NOT have the music box hard drive for music :( You have to use an iPod. I have one...around here someplace. Have to figure out how to use it!

Sucks to loose/ move a music library. I like the iPod though, it's one library that can be moved around to different places. Hopefully the interface in the car is easy to use. The Q60 is nice... better luck with this one!

I think I'm pretty lucky with these cars. I had a 2010 G37 that I totaled running into a commercial truck :( Walked away unscathed. Then got a 2011 G37--that was the one where I was rear-ended. The car was a mess. Not only was I not hurt--not even sore--I was able to drive it off the freeway, exchange information, get back on the freeway and drive it home for another 60 miles. People keep saying I'm nuts for buying a 3rd one, but TBH, the first two were so safe and sturdy I felt like it was a great decision to buy another.

BTW, the only difference between the three cars is the missing music box. The interiors are identical and they all three drive the same. I think the 2014 gets slightly better gas mileage--by one gallon/mile!
