While driving to work a block away I experienced a rubbing/dragging noise underneath my car. Anyone know it might be??? Sadly my car is not under warranty im close to about 38,000 miles. I called and scheduled an appointment in the morning with a dealership. I hope I don't have problems driving home from work, have to drive 20 miles of city driving and freeway driving to and from work.

The noise was more a metal sound. Do brakes fail at less 50,000 miles often?

Plus I have not done a Transmission Flush yet and my brakes have not been service/changed out yet.

Ok I just got back from the dealership they found nothing wrong as far as the grinding/rubbing noise.

My car dings a little going over dips near railroad tracks, driveways, speed bumps.

! Anyone know what might be touch the ground??? This has not happened til now.

Nothing should touch the ground. You have to be hearing something else. But wouldn't have a clue what.

If you hear it everytime, then get a service tech to ride with you and go find a bump/whatever.

Can it be the bushings? Do the dealerships usually looks at the bushings and grease them?

Those should normally be looked at during a large service (like 15/30k service, etc). Doubt it would be bushings though.

I'm sure the dealership checked your belts. Is it coming from a corner or from the center? Can you hear the noise if your outside the car?

Could be, perhaps a loose heat shield or muffler parts. Call Car Talk, aka click and clack, the Tappet Bros (airs on your local public radio station) . . . . I bet they'd diagnose it as or something comical like trinkets left by nesting mice in the air filter, which I've heard them talk about. http://www.cartalk.com/ I haven't heard anyone call in about their V, and we could use the exposure.

Red devil... Its a radio talk show about cars!! On the "AM" setting on your radio.... I know! I thought it was just some other button!!

My grandma listens to car talk... same channel as NPR or something? "all things considered" ? Dont they have that comedy where they make all their own noises... its actually really well done!

lawl

Older people driving the same car as me is just reassurance that I made a good choice. Exposure for Nissan is good, I think they made a good product!

Im scared to call in though.. they would be like.... "Nissan Versa??? What is that? ...Ive never seen one of those" just like everyone else.

I'm just confused as to why our cars "need exposure". I see plenty of elderly driving V's all the time.
