just a little advice to anyone that might for some reason be pulling a motor or doing a clutch.

if your truck is 4x4 REPLACE THE OIL PAN GASKET WHEN YOU HAVE THE ENGINE OUT!!!!!!

spent 4 hours today struggling to get the oil pan out and it still isnt out :-( i will be lifting the motor about 6 inches tomorrow to get the pan out. . .hopefully that works, cause if it doesnt then i will have to completley remove the front diff (right now all the mounting bolts are removed and its just dangling there. talk about a major PITA to replace a 3$ gasket but it was leaking and i am trying to make it reliable

another PITA was the passenger side bolts that hold it on. . .it is nearly impossible to get your hands in there to loosen the bolts. . .it sucked.

Good call. I would say that if it wasn't for the cooling system being full of liquid. Taking the motor out is easy, especially because the trans doesn't need to move in the 4wd. and Its pretty easy to get back in with two people.

Now you have me worried that my pan will start leaking.

yeah i am really at 95% motor removed. . .i just dont have the time for the extra 5%, truck needs to be running by monday

I hope i can make that goal if not then i will have to pay to have it towed to my apartment 80 mi away, sigh. at which point i will have no way to work on the truck and it will just sit.
