After exactly 8 weeks of waiting, my coupe is here. I'm going to go pick it up in an hour. I'm so excited. It was such a LONG wait!

Had a question for you guys, this is going to be my first manual transmission car, are there any things that I should be doing or not doing while I'm breaking the car in?

Soooo excited!

Take it easy on the clutch and try not to overshift.

Also, post pictures! Congrats!

Also, try to limit downshifting when you come to a stop. I've learned that you are better off using the brakes than wearing out the transmission. Brake pads are cheaper.

Just got home, the car is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I got the Azure blue and I am sooo glad that I did, it is definitely the color for me. So worth the 2 month wait. woohoo

I know that people have depated this, but what is the concensus on breaking the car in for the first 1,000 miles. I asked 2 people at the dealership and the both said that you don't really have to do it. I'm still cautious, but considering how much better cars are made these days, I can understand them saying that you don't have to break it in. One of the dealers however did say that you shouldn't use the cruise control for the 1st 400 miles. Didn't pay too much attention to why, but 400 miles isn't a problem to hold off on it.

dragon17, what do you mean, "try not to overshift"? Should I be limiting how much I use the gears? One of my friends told me to shift more so that I break in the clutch and the gears.

I mean, don't frequently make it a habit to shift from second to forth and such. By the way, which did you get - 2.5 or 3.5?

3.5SE with the premium package. Haven't opened it up to see the power of the V6, but even without punching it, I can tell that it has a sweet go to it.

And i'll try to avoid skipping gears, thanks.

Give it some time before you actually rev it up and unleash all 270 horses.
